Frequently Asked Questions

Where will it take place?

The ceremony will take place at the impressive Goldsmiths’ Hall, Foster Lane, London, EC2V 6BN.

Except for exhibitions, the Hall is not open to the public, so this is a unique opportunity to see inside one of London’s most prestigious buildings.  Students will be awarded their diplomas in the magnificent Livery Hall in front of the Company’s ceremonial plate, followed by drinks in the Drawing Room.

What happens during the ceremony?

When you arrive at Goldsmiths’ Hall, you need to sign at the NJ Education registration desk.  NAJ staff will direct you to the Livery Hall, where the Award ceremony will commence at 6pm.  Diplomas will then be awarded in order of subject and grade, as listed in the Awards Brochure, which will be placed on your Chair in the Livery Hall. When your name is called walk up to the left-hand side of the stage to the person handing you the Diploma.  The official photographer will take your picture and you can return to your seat.

What should I wear?

There is no official dress code although students do tend to dress up.  We would advise graduates to dress smartly.

Can I take photos?

Photos cannot be taken in the Livery Hall, but an official photographer will be present to take a picture of you receiving your award and during the reception after.  You will then be able to order photos directly a few days after the ceremony.  We will give order details on the night.

After the ceremony…

Drinks and light refreshments will be served for all graduates and their guests in the Drawing Room from 7pm.  The evening finishes deliberately early between 8pm and 8.30pm to allow you, your friends, family and colleagues to celebrate further in London.

Where can I stay?

Although we cannot recommend hotels, we do have a list of places students have used in the past.   Email: jet@naj.co.uk  for the full list.
